Between the Southern Council and the legitimate government: Yemen’s Future to Where

In Yemen, a new old conflict is taking place in the city of Aden, where the parties are entrapped in a difficult equation that threatens the future of Yemeni unity.  It is predicted that the outcomes of this on-going conflict may lead to the separation of the south from the north if the severe tension between the internationally recognized government and the separatist council of the Southern Movement reaches impasse. This new conflict reminds us of the historical roots of previous civil wars and armed partisan tensions, which later crowned after several years of shedding the Yemeni blood in signing the North-South Unity Agreement in 1990. The Yemeni Unity was achieved after many negotiations and agreements between the former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Salim Al-Beid Saleh, that when Saleh took over as the president of the new state The Republic of Yemen and Al-Beid is the vice president
